His original name is Blake Austin Griffin is an American NBA basketball player who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets (NBA).
He has crowned the unanimous national college player of the year as a sophomore while playing college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners. Griffin was the first overall pick in the 2009 NBA draught by the Los Angeles Clippers and has since gone on to become a six-time NBA All-Star and five-time All-NBA selection. Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons in January 2018 and remained with them until 2021. Griffin joined the Brooklyn Nets in March of 2021.
Griffin won four high school state championships at Oklahoma Christian School, where his father, Tommy Griffin, was the head coach. Griffin continued to play two years of college basketball for the Sooners before being drafted by the Clippers in the 2009 NBA draught. NBA careersLos Angeles Clippers (2009–2018)
Griffin stated on April 7, 2009, that he will forego his remaining two years of eligibility and enter the NBA draught following his sophomore year. ESPNews held a national press conference announcing his decision. He was the first overall choice in the 2009 NBA draught by the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin was voted Summer League MVP while playing for the Clippers’ Summer League team. He hurt his kneecap landing after a dunk in their final preseason game. Griffin was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left knee the day before the 2009–10 season began, postponing his NBA debut by seven weeks. After several weeks of resting the stress fracture, examinations revealed that his knee was not healing properly. Griffin had surgery on his damaged left kneecap in January 2010, which forced him to miss the rest of the 2009–10 season.
2010–2011 Rookie of the Year
Griffin was still considered a rookie during the 2010–11 season because he missed the whole 2009–10 season. Griffin scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in his NBA debut against the Portland Trail Blazers.
First playoff appearance and division championship (2011–2013)
Griffin was selected to play in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game as a starter for the first time, with new teammate Chris Paul. Griffin had a career-high 24.1 points per game in his debut season with Rivers at the helm. He was selected as a starter in the NBA All-Star Game for the fourth time in his career, and his third consecutive start.
Brooklyn Nets (since 2021)
Griffin joined the Brooklyn Nets on March 8, 2021. Griffin made his Nets debut on March 21 in a 113–106 win over the Washington Wizards, with two points, two rebounds, and a block in 15 minutes off the bench. In a 113–109 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on May 6, Griffin had his first double-double as a Net, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

From first grade until Taylor was in tenth grade and Blake was in eighth, Griffin and his older brother, Taylor Griffin, were residence by their mother.
