Halley Gross is an American screenwriter and former actress from Fort Myers, Florida. She grew up in New Jersey. She is best known for writing two episodes of the HBO series Westworld (2016) and co-writing the video game The Last Of Us Part II (2020).

She has worked as a child actress and made appearances on Law & Order (1990). She later wanted to become a comedian while studying in college but found that comedy made her uncomfortable.
Halley Gross studied at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University as an undergraduate. In 2008, she earned a degree in creative writing and then gained a master’s degree in dramaturgy from New York University in 2010.
Before moving into scriptwriting, Gross worked as an actress and appeared on stage in a 2005 dark comedy Hurlyburly. She then appeared in a 2011 production of The Metal Children, and a 2012 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Gross had her breakthrough as a writer and story editor for two episodes of the HBO television series Westworld in 2016. She was also a writer for two episodes of the Amazon miniseries Too Old to Die Young (2019).
