In another interview, Sarayu described her sister as ‘godmother’ and said that her sister had supported her a lot. She said,
She is my godmother. She was always proud of me, had my back and there were instances when she fought with her husband for me. She was the one who motivated me to participate in Bigg Boss. I never wanted to go in the first place. But finally decided to try just for the experience.”

Controversy
In February 2022, a police complaint was filed in Banjara Hills police station against Sarayu after a man from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Telangana claimed that Sarayu was featured in an ad where she was seen saying the slogan ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya’ that had hurt the sentiments of Hindus and women.
