Lata Mangeshkar Wikipedia
Lata Mangeshkar was an Indian Singer and occasional music composer. Lata Mangeshkar’s birth name was Hema Mangeshkar but later her parents renamed her Lata after a female character, Latika, in one of her father’s plays.
She was also known as the Nightingale of India and Queen of Melody.
Lata Mangeshkar sang more than 30 thousand songs in a career of 78 years. Lata Mangeshkar was a playback singer since 1942.
Lata Mangeshkar started working at the age of 5. Lata Mangeshkar took over the responsibility of the house at the age when children play and study. She never married for the better future of her siblings.
She was also a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 22 November 1999 – 21 November 2005.
